30 Frames per Second: A weblog of my life as the new video production and social media intern

What inspires you?

So when I first started interning at Sun one of the things I remember most was being told that we wanted to produce videos that communicate information by telling stories, not video tutorials or traditional howto videos. This was our main goal for both the Tagging for Fun and Profit  and our RSS Unleased video, both set out to solve a problem. For the RSS Unleashed the problem was that many people didn't understand what or how RSS could be used. (and still 2 months later this is still widely the case)  So we created a fictional situation where the main character could benefit from using RSS in their life. How does it compare to lets say RSS in Plain English? Is it like comparing apples and oranges? All I know that it feels like we are headed in the right direction, and I can be happier trying to improve from one video to the next. :)


Below Ira Glass host of This Ameraica Life and by far in my opinion one of the best storytellers out there. In the 4 videos below he has some great insights and tips. For me, I can really relate to the 3rd video, I want to produce content that is the best but it really takes time and loads of experience to get to that level. For some this might happen overnight but for most it might take a lot longer. Not to say that we haven't produced good videos so far just that when you compare yourself to the "pros" it is sometimes important to think of how far you have come.

So in the past few weeks have discovered (mostly via twitter) some great video tools. It is 5:30, so I dont have time to do it today so I instead of blogging about useful stuff I will blog about not having enough time to blog. 

However, until then I did come across blog.tv today. (via Mashable) Really cool service for steaming live video from a webcam.
