Another CAM release has gone out the door and can be picked up here.
This release is significant because it includes the much anticipated SAS zoning (a.k.a SAS domain access configuration) feature. You can now control which hosts have access to which disks inside a Sun Storage Expansion Array. It is highly recommended that you read through Chapter 5 of the Sun StorageTek Common Array Manager User Guide for Open Systems (that's a mouth full) and the Using Access Configuration Features section in the release notes to get a basic understanding of this feature and the best practices for using it.
This release is also a recommended upgrade for RAID array users, especially those using the Sun StorageTek 2500 arrays, who are using array firmware 7.x or later.
Some additional important notes about this release:
- For Sun StorageTek 2500 users: before you can upgrade to the latest firmware included with CAM 6.4.1 you must run the Firmware Upgrade Utility 07.35.xx.xx first.
- For Sun Storage Expansion Array users: When it is desired to centralize the management of multiple arrays which may be connected to multiple direct attached hosts, download the entire CAM installation kit and during the installation choose the "in-band proxy agent only" option for any hosts which are not the designated to be the centralized CAM management station. The centralized CAM management station will require the "full" distribution to be installed.
Is there any way a "console" mode could be added to the Firmware Upgrade Utility? I manage many 2540s and most are attached to servers on the other end of very slow networks.

I am not able to find RAID 1+0 in this(6.4.1) version of CAM while configuring STK6140. Sun should have given this RAID level.

What firmware are you running on the 6140? 07.50.13.10?

RAID 1 on any 2500 or 6000 array is really RAID 1+0. The documentation may
state a difference between RAID 1 and RAID 1+0, but there is no difference as
it pertains to the arrays. We do require that you have the RAID 1/1+0 created
with PAIRS of drives, which means you can only create vdisks with even numbers of drives. This has always been the case with the 6000 and 2500 line of products.

The 2500 firmware upgrade utility(and now the 6000 as well) are GUI based. There are no plans to create a CLI based utility for firmware upgrades between 06.xx and 07.xx firmware. All firmware upgrades 06.xx->06.xx and 07.xx->07.xx continue to have the ability to be done via BUI or CLI(sscs modify firmware).
