Wednesday October 13, 2004 Just celebrated my 13th wedding anniversary (10/12/91)
In this day and age where on average 1 in every 2 marriages end in divorce (at least that's what I keep hearing in the US media), I am so very happy to have been able to celebrate my 13th wedding anniversary (10/12/91) with my best half, Patrick. 1st Date: Dinner and a movie (Stephen King's Pet Semetery)
1st major separation: Patrick graduated in 1990 from HSU, I had one more year to go so we had a long distance relationship for a year
Our honeymoon: Given that I was still in college at SJSU when we married, we didn't have much time so we spent a weekend in San Diego right after our wedding and then 6 months later, we went to Las Vegas for our official honeymoon.
His first major "stand by her side for support moment": My grandmother passed away the night of our wedding; Patrick and his family were there by my side to support me in my time of grief. They've been there ever since :) I did the same for him and his family when they lost his youngest brother at age 29, wouldn't have done anywhere else!
1st Family Pet: A black kitty that we adopted from the Humane Society, she was my graduation present from HSU and I named her "Morticia" She's been gone for a long time now but we now have Peyton, Scarlett, Ashes, & Arwen (cats) and Glory and Lycos (dogs) sharing our lives.
1st home together: When I graduated in 1991, I joined Patrick in the Bay Area - we lived in a studio apartment in Sunnyvale.
1st home we bought: We bought our first home in Fremont, by way of Sunnyvale, Concord, and San Jose
1st car we bought together: Patrick had a car when I met him (a Honda CRX), I didn't so we ended up purchasing a Toyota Corolla
1st exotic trip together: Our first trip together outside of the United States was to Germany / Austria and England...Patrick had to do an audit there for the Defense Department and I tagged along!
Latest exotic trip together: Our latest trip outside the United States was a visit to Brazil and Guatemala.
Just a sampling of what we've experienced together...here's looking to many more adventures with one of the most significant influences in my life.
