Classic Atari games in your browser
While I was attending the Austin Game Conference last week (which was an awesome conference, BTW) I sat down with an old friend, Tom Dusenberry, to catch up and talk some business. Tom was the founder and President of Hasbro Interactive which closed in early 2000. Back in the day, Hasbro owned the Games.Com URL, but Hasbro, Inc. management could never understand the power and importance that Hasbro Interactive, and Games.Com, could represent for the company.
GAMES.COM .... has no value ....
I'll let that one sink in for a moment......
ANYWAY, I was thinking about Games.Com, which is now owned by Atari, and how back in 2000 they had launched several classic arcade games on the web which were running in a Java emulator. Well, lo and behold, they are still there! Click on a picture below to run one of these: (NOTE: Just click on the Guest button if you are presented with one after you click on a picture below.)

What's really cool about these is that they are apps written way back in the "Old Web Days" and just carry forward and work today. No one had to think about porting, compatability, reworking etc. They just, well, work! Really cool

Great choice of games, but Centipede was my alltime favourite and first game I have had played on a computer in the early 80'
