"Nintendolectro" - 8-Bit music joy!
I am a BIG fan of 8-bit music. From YMCK to 8-Bit-Weapon, I love tunes that are made with old synths, video game systems, etc. Collin Haberl, musician and son of the awesome Karl Haberl, e-mailed me his new track and I had a listen. I love it! Check it out here:
What makes this double cool is that Collin actually gets why 8-bit music is awesome. From his e-mail to me:
There are a couple of drum loops and effects, but most everything else on the track is just pure triangle wave sounds from that good 'ole gray box, baby!
Remember how the NES music was made up of short loops that just repeat endlessly? well, I found out that this track (unintentionally, i swear) loops back on itself EXACTLY like one of those repeating NES loops! ha! just set ITunes to repeat one or loop it in QT player, etc and you'll see what I mean. ahhhhh retro memories
Awesome work Collin. Looking forward to your next track!
thanks for sharing, it reminds me of the arcade machines in the early 90s and late 80s
