Razer Boomslang - 10th Anniversary Edition
At the PAX 2008 conference I sat on a panel to discuss the future of PC game hardware and technology. While we did not have the representation of the big chip or graphics card companies sitting with us, it did give us an opportunity to discuss the trends from a gamers point of view. Joining me on the panel was Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff, the President of Razer USA, and he took up the challenge of discussing the evolution and application of hardware devices and peripherals in next gen game play.
Robert and I were talking about the history of Razer and I remarked to him how I had an original Razer Boomslang 1000, which I purchased back in early 2000. It was the most unique game mouse on the market and was physically huge compared to the mice of the day, most of which were generic, beige and crappy. I loved the Boomslang, but left it aside as optical mice came down in price and increased in features.
While taking this stroll down lanes of hardware past, Robert mentioned that there was an 10th anniversary edition of the Boomslang they were shipping and that he would send me one to check out. Well, recently, the mouse arrived at my doorstop and I was blown away at the level of detail and care that Razer put into the presentation of this device. Below are the unboxing pictures I took of the Razer Boomslang 2007 Collector's Edition.
Beautiful!
I have been using the mouse for 2 weeks now and really love the preciseness of the Boomslang. The finish, look and coolness factor can not be overstated. This mouse is incredible.
