Every once in a while you get to meet people in your industry that constantly challenge the status quo and look at things sideways. Of all of the people I have ever met in the games industry, Scott Foe is such a man. Brilliant, provocative and absolutely hilarious, Scott never ceases to impress me. And it seems that his reputation has caught up with him and published in The Escapist Magazine:

In this article, the author highlights 3 of the industry's fastest rising stars and why they deserve to be listed as a top gamemaker. I believe that this honor is long overdue for my friend Scott. Look at the accomplishments of this 29 year old wonder:

- Starts at Sega of America at 21
- At 22, he is responsible for the entire network solution for Sega's flagship product, NFL 2K1, for the Dreamcast
- Dreamcast fails, Scott leads a re-engineering effort to produce the Sega Network Application Platform (SNAP), which becomes one of the principle reasons Nokia acquires Sega.Com
- Goes on to lead the N-Gage Arena project after the Nokia acquisition
- Scott produces the FIRST MMOG for mobile phones, Pocket Kingdom: Own the World, which was played by players more than 7.3 hours per month, making it the most played mobile game in the world at the time

And he's just getting started.

Here is one of my favorite quotes from the article:

"Salable product is a producer's primary responsibility. In-time, under-budget is the fallacy of production. You could go to the bathroom for less time and money than you ever thought possible, but all you've made is a piece of s_h_i_t."

THAT is why I think Scott Foe is awesome. Congrats my friend, you truly deserve be on the list of "Next Generation of Top Gamemakers"!
