When video game systems and dentistry collide?
I have seen a lot of strange and awesome systems in my time as a collector, but this has to be a first for me. Can you spot the similarity in the following two photos?
It would seem that Imagin Systems Corp purchased the molds for the Jaguar from Atari to make their IntraOral camera. The next time I get my teeth cleaned I will have to take my copy of Tempest 2000 with me and see what happens

That is frickin' hilarious! Just make sure they're done cleaning your teeth when you swap the cart - I'd hate to see what happens if you mix those programs up. ;)

It is possible that the entire electronics main board is also the same. In other words, the jaguar electronics became the design for the whole product. In which case it may be that the guy who did the cad/cam and electronics was hired after Atari's jaguar project died, and he had all the CAD files for the mechanical, and all the electronics layouts in software done, and all he did was minimally modify it for a completely new application. What do the cartridges in the dental system actually do? If it's the firmware upgrade (via cartridge), then that's TOO FUNNY.

I doubt the main board is the same. The Atari Jaguar had proprietary (and patented) custom chips for sound and display (Tom and Jerry), which IBM manufactured for Atari. I bet it's new electronics made to fit the old case design. Although, it may be just the 68000 in there. I suppose "hacked" Jaguar PC boards without the custom chips could work.
I wonder if the "cartridge port" is merely a dongle? It would be weird to change cartridges to change firmware.

Ah!! It was a prototype mock-up. The final product looks a bit different. That, my friends is a REAL painted Jaguar in the picture with (most likely) a real painted jag cartridge in it so you don't see the electronics.
Now that's funny.
