Social Media for Generation ME
Our growing collaborative ecosystem
I listened to a great lunch talk yesterday today given by accomplished entrepreneur Philippe Courtot and what I picked up is this:
1. The internet has not served as a way for computers to talk to one another, but as a way for people
to cooperate, communicate and share everything with one another. In
essence, the technology that will prove the most useful will help
people collaborate easier and more efficiently than ever before.
2. Traditional software as we know it will go the way of the dinosaur, as software as
a service (SaaS) trends builds momentum and the masses adopt web based
tools for most work processes.
3. Business models that still served us even as recently as 2-3 years ago will become
completely irrelevant at an alarming clip. In essence, I have to dump
all the MBA texts that have broken my piggy bank this past year.
This insight reminded of of this comprehensive illustration of the extensive social media community and tools that are changing our lives. What will this prism look like in 1, 2, 5...years?
