This is month is too busy to update my blog.
After inviting education fellows to attend ERC in China on April 18th, I focused on my third tech talk in SCUT(South China University of Technology). The topic is "Unix/Solaris Overview".
I have finished 2 tech talks in my university last semester, so I'm planning to finish 4 tech talks this semester.
The tech talk on April 12th is my best tech talk in my memory. Because I spreaded the tech talk in my whole campus. I hoped I can get everyone who is interesting to come and attend. But 2 days before the talk day, I got another message that the Microsoft Club will also hold a lecture at that night, and their speaker has many titles. Their talk's topic is "IT Life Career". Comparing to my talk, I felt so depresstion at that time, because I thought there maybe few students coming to my talk. 10, 20 students? I don't know.
I continued preparing my talk and my slides used in talk. I said to myself: if only comes one student, I will also try my best to make the talk perfect.
At the night of April 12th, I came to the classroom calmly, waiting for my listeners. And I found there are more and more students appeared in the classroom. Nearly 50 students arrived at the time to start tech talk. I was so surprised and so touched.
At 7 o'clock, I began my third talk as promised in the flyers. First, I introduced Unix and Linux, and the difference between them. Then, I focused on Solaris and OpenSolaris. In this session, I introduced Sun Microsystems and Solaris Features such as DTrace, Zone and ZFS. At last, I gave the information about Unix Center to everyone. During the talk, I also gave some dukes and T-Shirts to the attendees.
At 9 o'clock, my talk finished. I have spoken constant 2 hours, and after that I can't speak as usual. But I'm so happy when I saw the smiles on everyone's face.
I will hold my forth techtalk next week. I hope I can have another success!
