SFD2008 in GuiZhou University Eddan

       On June 3^rd,i held two activities,one is Open source club's handover ceremony ,the other is a teach talk about sunspot.

       Several days ago,i have prepared to choose the next leader of our club and Guizhou university group's leader in OSUM . Lucky ,i found two students ,both of them have strong study and organizing ability to adequate this work. After communicating with computer institutes's leaders,secretary Ding wanted us to hold a formal handover ceremony and she gladly took part in this activity.

      During 16:30 to 17:30,secretary Ding,teacher Lan and the new and old responser attended handover ceremony. Firstly, i gave them a work summary of our club's past two years. Then, new leader introduced himself and his team members,work plan. Thirdly,secretary Ding and teacher Lan partly approved our club past two years' work and gave us some suggestion,what's most,secretary gave our club's some promises . Lastly, secretary Ding and teacher Lan awarded appointment letter to every old workers.

     During 19:00 to 21:00,i hold an teach talk about sunspot. I invited a postgraduate ,named Zhufeng Fu who was a teacher teach physics ,as speaker. Because he had good experience in wireless communication ,his talk got audiences' applaud .At the end of the teach talk,speaker let audience discussion of what sunspot can do,one student said sunspot can remote monitor what is happening at home .One student said there is too hard for astronauts to work in space and he wanted to put a sunspot into astronauts 's cloth and let it detect their activity and support manual's movement. One student said that he wanted to make use of sunspot controlling household appliances automatically. One student said that he wanted to discover moon's mysterious ,so he wanted to build a moon station which can collect moon's data by sunspot .I was so surprised of students' idea when they firstly attached sunspot.

     As students' excellent discussion,i sent many gifts to students.

     As a CA in SUN,on July 7, i will resign,so this is the last activity  i held.Thanks SUN to give me a good platform to grow up and make good friends with many CAs.   

     In this activity,i gladly invited teacher Deng to give us a tech talk about how to study technology .Firstly,he analyses current employment situation .Then he will tell student what tools and languages they need to choose to do a C/S or B/S project .Lastly,he showed some demos to students .

     In order to induce more students to register in OSUM,i introduced the benefit of using OSUM,and suggest them to download slides and records in OSUM to study Open source technology by themselves .The most important of this event is our staff members demonstrated how to register into GuiZhou university group in OSUM.

     The last part ,teacher Deng answered some questions of study technology ,i answered some questions about OSUM and open source .Every students asked questions got an elegant gifts.

Today(Apr.15th),i hold a techtalk about JavaFX.

Before i start event formally,i let some students to play games which were developed by JavaFX.
Because a great of audiences have never heard JavaFX ,i showed a demo which can open and close QingMingShangHe image slowly and let them take questions to listen my lecture. When entering lecture formally,firstly,i introduced what is JavaFX and why we choose to use JavaFX .Then,i told audience how to develop the demo i played at the beginning of the event which attracted attendances' mind most. Lastly,i told them JavaFX competition rule .

The audience joined in our activity spanned from graduate students in grade three to freshman. After this activity over ,some of them copied my demo and intend to take part in this competition.
Lastly ,i will thanks Joey Shen's help,his demo emailed to me is the most highlights of my events. Thanks workers from Federation of GuiZhou University Corporate Union who report our event ,Thanks again!

During the first session,i sent pens,Tshirts and opensolaris's CDs and minibooks to audiences by asking questions. After the last session,I sent left gifts to them.

         

  

         Today(March 25th),i hold a manual experiment about Install Opensolaris 2008.11,the number of attendance is 75.
          In this event,to begin with,i introduce the relationship of unix and Opensolaris , and tell students the benefit of Opensolaris .Then,i do some operation on Opensolaris which attract many students and allow a part of interested students to experience on My PC. At last,i issued some manual operation and live CDs to them and let them to install on their PC.
          Lastly ,i will thanks teacher Fan who gives me time and good environment to hold my first manual experiment event.Thanks again!

          During the third session,i sent twenty liveCDs to students.

    Thanks from Imran's warmly help,i successfully mount my mobile hard disk as he said.

    Using command 'rmformat' to view the type of your mobile hard disk. For example,my external hard disk is having raw(char) device of /dev/rdsk/c6t0d0p0 and has 160 GB space.the order of the partitions, i.e. NTFS, NTFS ,FAT, FAT.

    If your mobile hard disk has NTF's partition,you should installing the 2  packages as described here:

http://blogs.sun.com/ajaykumar/entry/access_ntfs_partition_from_solaris(you just need to install FSWpart and FSWfsmisc),then using the following command to mount all partition into your PC.

   Become root with: pfexec su - (or just plain su -)
   Run the following:
   mkdir /mnt/software
   mount -F ntfs /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p1 /mnt/software

   mkdir /mnt/relax
   mount -F ntfs /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p2 /mnt/relax

   mkdir /mnt/research
   mount -F pcfs /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p3 /mnt/research

   mkdir /mnt/temp
   mount -F pcfs /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p4 /mnt/temp

  /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p1 -> partition 1:software
  /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p2 -> partition 2:relax
  /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p3 -> partition 3:research
  /dev/dsk/c6t0d0p4 -> partition 4:temp

   PS:you can mount NTFS in read-only mode. Anyway, FAT will mount as read-write. Everytime i reboot my PC,i should to mount them again,why? And what's the the safe way to pull out mobile hard disk?Directly  pull out is ok or any other method to do ?
