New: OOo-Dev 3.0 Developer snapshot (build DEV300_m16) available
Joost Andrae

OOo-Dev3.0 Developer Snapshot build DEV300_m16 which installs as OOo-Dev 3.0 has been uploaded to the mirror network.

The rename of the product name to OOo-Dev allows the installation of the OpenOffice.org snapshot parallel to an OpenOffice.org  'final' (released) version. For this version some language packs have been uploaded and they should install into the OOo-Dev
installation. This is the first developer snapshot build where I provide 64 bit Linux installation sets (deb + rpm) and corresponding language packs.

If you find severe issues within this build please file them to OpenOffice.org's bug tracking system IssueTracker.

Comments:

I try it since build DEV300_m2 and it works fine. Can open .docx files, which was the only (bad) reason to use the monster Office 2007.
One thing I cannot understand very well:
I have complained for years about the OOo installers which used to delete my spell checkers, replace them with rare languages I never use, sometimes suppressed my French and my Latin dictionary and restarted in German (why not?), deleting my dictionary.lst.
I've just installed build DEV300_m17 over m14. The contents of my c:\Program Files\OOo-dev\Basis 3.0\share\dict\ooo\ has been replaced by useless dictionaries, my dictionary.lst by a foolish one as usual, but my spell checkers (French, Latin and English) seem to be still working!
Maybe because I used DEV_300_m14 just before installing the new version, and everything will be messed again when the computer restarts? Maybe a new invisible dictionary managing feature?

Well; sorry; I understood everything just when I sent the above message.
The true dictionary location is c:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org\Basis 3.0\share\dict\ooo\
I guessed that these new directories (especially basis) were to be a solution to my spell checkers problems. Thanks.
