You may have been stumbled over ODF@WWW and its first incarnation, the ODF Wiki. I am actually very happy about the broad feedback I got by now and would like to continue this pet project.

Charles H. Schulz was so kind to organize an IRC meeting for last Monday (yesterday :-) about OOo online features in general and ODF@WWW in more detail. Please find the log file here.

In my last blog  posting on ODF@WWW I gave brief installation instructions ... unfortunately they seemed to be somewhat too brief, according to the feedback I got. So, I reworked everything slightly and created a Wiki page giving detailed step-by-step guidance:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/ODF@WWW

Instructions are available for OpenSolaris 200805 and Ubuntu 8.04.1. This page may also be used as a starting point for further discussions on how to organize this project ... but lets see :-) Originally I planned to create some virtual boxes with a pre-installed ODF Wiki, looking at the instructions, I am unsure if this is still needed, especially taking into account that the download might not actually be small ;-) So, if you still feel the need for virtual boxes, please drop me a note.

And by the way, I recently visited the Technische Unversität Dresden together with Stefan Zimmermann, where we met with Professor Aßmann of the department of computer science. It was a very warm welcome and I had the chance to give a talk on OOo and Uno, Stefan was so kind to put everything together here.

Coming back to the ODF@WWW respectively the ODF Wiki, I think the most urgent goal is to actually create something usable, which can be deployed in real world scenarios ... I think I am going to create a little plan for this and may blog about it the next week :*)

Thanks for listening

Kay
