OpenOffice.org QA
Joost Andrae
I'd like to welcome all GullFOSS readers. My name is Joost Andrae, I'm working for the StarOffice/OpenOffice.org team in Hamburg, Germany since 1995 and I'm the co-lead of the QA project on OpenOffice.org. Additionally I care about QAing en-US builds before I upload them as a developer snapshot or as a release candidate build to a master mirror server to get the builds distributed worldwide within OpenOffice.org's mirror network.

Within the QA project many project members (currently about 550) help by confirming bugs/defects within the bug tracking system IssueTracker. For developers this helps a lot because they can focus on confirmed issues.

Others automate the application by using either the TestTool or automate by using the API test framework qadevOOo.

Another important area within the QA project is the collaboration with the native language communities to get localizations tested.

If you're interested into this project then you're welcome to join it. Here's the way to go:

Read this page and follow the instructions about how to join and about which mailing list to read...
