Pootle and OpenOffice.org
Frank Mau

OpenOffice.org 3.1 is knocking on the door and we are proud to deliver more languages than ever before. I've seen near by 100 full install-sets for m5 testing! Great to see this engagement by the community, big thanks to everyone.

Many of the translators use pootle to translate the OpenOffice.org UI and help. Having so many languages implicit brings a huge overhead of organisation and time-pressure into the process and we want to ease the translation process and break down barriers. Therefor we added some new links on tools.services.openoffice.org. You find here the dynamic generated list of all Pootle languages on our sunvirtuallab servers. This should help to find YOUR Pootle-server with YOUR languages to translate.

A second link is for downloading the newest gsi-check tool. The gsi-check tool validates the OpenOffice.org translation files. This tool should be used to guarantee format-error free translation files and helps us to accelerate merging in the translation into the product. Please use it before submitting your translation file for a new office version, thank you.

Best regards,

Frank

Builds from OOO310_m5 milestone are available for localization testing
Marcus Lange

Hi l10n people,

the "localization35" CWS was integrated into the OOO310_m5 milestone.

In order to test this localization we go a different way than normal. Builds with full installation sets and all available languages were created but these need more space. Therefore we have uploaded them to a different location than usually:

http://ooo.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/cws/upload/localization/ooo310_m5/

Important:
These builds were built with productname "OpenOffice.org". So a parallel installation with already released 3.x versions is not possible this time.

Please take the chance and test the localization quality, not only but especially. The focus can also be set to the installer due to the full installation sets. If you find problems, please file them in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker:

http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards

Marcus

OOo 2.4 localisation
Glazunov Vladimir

The localisation CWS localisation27 is now integrated, so we can report some info about localisation for OOo 2.4 release.

Well, we got one new language - occitan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occitan_language). So far there is just a little part translated, but anyway.

The overall languages updated - 65, namely: af ar be-BY bg bn br bs ca cs cy de el en-GB en-ZA eo es et eu fa fi fr gl he hr hu it ja ka km ko ku lt mk nb ne nl nn ns oc pa-IN pl pt pt-BR ru rw sh-YU sk sl sr-CS ss st sv sw-TZ tg tn tr ts uk uz ve vi xh zh-CN zh-TW zu

As usual, the common problem was neglecting of using of gsicheck, which led to erroneous gsi-files, and thus to rejected strings.

Some translation updates missed the deadline, and some came too late.
