In February 2003, while wandering around San Francisco International Airport before a return flight to the UK, I ventured into the "Discovery Store".
There, I purchased a 75 cm Living Arts Balance Ball, with full intent of pushing myself into a new exercise program once back in the UK.
At home, I discovered the ball was really comfy for sitting on... and watching TV.   So much for exercise!   In fact, I found it much more comfortable (and interesting) than my expensive, ergonomically correct office chair.
So, for the past 18 months, I've been sitting on a balance ball at my desk.   Balancing on it without feet on the ground...   Gently moving around, rolling, bouncing...   And (while on mute) dribbling it during concalls.   :-)
The result?   Well, aside from having an office chair I can pack into my luggage for busy trips, I've actually become a better, more supple rider!   Instead of sitting still for 8 hours, I'm now constantly on the move... without leaving my desk.
(PS: No, that's not me in the image)
