A couple of months ago I was musing with my friend Phil Terry, who
helps organize the Good
Experience Live
gatherings in New York, about what makes a stimulating conference. We
chatted about all kinds of different gatherings in all kinds of
different industries -- and then all of a sudden I was hit mid-sentence
with a revelation: "Hey of all of the different conferences and events
I've ever been to, now that I think of it Sun's JavaOne conference is
the most magical [yep, I really used that word]. It's great networking
with people from all over the world, there's a sea of new technology
and new ideas, and it seems to run almost around the clock!"
As John Clingan pointed our the other day, these things really are all
about the people you meet.
