We're launching a new portal in a few days, and I thought I would give you a sneak preview.

This first edition is of use to you primarily if you're working with Solaris Enterprise System components (e.g. Solaris 10, Java Enterprise System, Java Studio Enterprise, Secure Global Desktop, etc). Here's how it works...

1. First, you download the software you want via the Solaris Enterprise System "Get It" page.

2. Then you log in or register and download, as usual. In the background, we've created a portal for you that's set up for the software you selected. 

3. Once you've downloaded, visit your portal at sun.com/mysunconnection.

Some of the neat stuff you'll see keyed to your software (as in the pic below) are: Forum feeds, blog postings,  links to relevant training and documentation for your  products, and other conveniences like download history.

One of the neatest additions is a complete tab devoted to Services / Support, which includes a status window into your Software Update status (via Sun Update Connection) and well as browsing and searching interfaces for support knowledge around Sun products.

We'll be adding stuff periodically once we launch. Keep an eye on the "Fresh Tools" tab in particular.
