I promised an iPod Mini to a lucky person, but several people sent in great stories about training... so I scraped together a couple of other goodies, too.

I am sending the 4 GB iPod Mini to Paul Greidanus. Paul obviously has a lot of energy and enthusiasm for education and tells such a heroic story about updating the entire training lab from Solaris 9 to Solaris 10 and back again... in two days including time for the Solaris 10 class!

I'm sending a 256 MB flash drive pen to Kishore Dandu.  Kirshore tells a charmed story about how lucky it is to start SCJP training... even if you don't quite finish!

I'm also sending a 256 MB flash drive pen to Eddie Booher, Jr. Eddie tells an inspiring story about how much he loves learning... well at least learning about operating systems and computers -- never mind those liberal arts!
JOTD book

Honorable mention to Hershel Remer because by all accounts like he is a very funny rabbi / comedian / Solaris-certified SA and I am told he has written a very funny book worth a mention here.  It has an entire chapter devoted to Solaris jokes.  (No, I'm not making this up!)

Thanks to everyone else who sent in their stories too ... great reading!

Comments:

Thanks! I have to thank the Sun sales team up here in Edmonton for their work in making the course a huge success for the attendees. Angela Kouritzin for taking care of everything non-computers, sending invites, and the rest. Paul Petrov, and Alvin Holmes for getting the courseware put together and doing the actual presentation. I'm really looking forward to the next time we can host something else in the lab.
