As you might have seen in my post from a few months ago on   comic book style in the design process, comic illustrations can be a really effective tool for illustrating and thinking through user experiences.

We recently decided to create generic panels for a bunch of different characters and scenes so that we will have handy scenes and setups to illustrate common web experiences. It's a work in progress but here are a few samples:

The small agency we're using is doing literally hundreds of poses and scenes for us. Once the work is done, I will look into sharing some of the images in a StarOffice "comic book" template that you can use for your own projects. Stay tuned.

An agency? Yeesh, don't you have anyone at Sun who can draw? (Or who owns a webcam and a copy of Comic Life?)

Yes, an agency. We have lots of people who can draw, but they're busy designing your next product. Sometimes an agency, staffed with creative freelancers, is the most creative way.
