There's a new update to My Sun.  You can check it out at sun.com/mysun.

Basically, we've added new features and enhanced the user interface to give you more flexibility to customize your portal page. And, if you're a Sun iForce Partner there are some extra goodies.

Some of the general new additions include:

  • One-click access to select ebusiness functions such as Order Status, Product Catalog/SunStore, Online Support Center, and more
  • A new personalization feature that puts you in charge of the content and layout of your portal page and lets you add tabs to better organize their information
    • Improved usability & user interface (UI) enhancements
    • Multi-language support (translated views incl. Japan, Korea)
  • Permissions (role) based access with control down to link level
  • Some selected additional features, tools, and collaboration capabilities as needed for partners and customers
  • Some streamlined features around registration and delegated administration for assigning permission

The new MySun uses the Sun Java Enterprise System (JES) software stack including Solaris, Web Server, Portal Server, Identity Server, and Directory Server. Over 25 tools and applications are integrated to MySun. And of course the entire portal implementation runs on Sun servers and utilizes Sun Storage.
