One hidden treasure on Sun.com is the section that covers Remanufactured Systems.  Think of these as "luxury pre-owned systems" that have been through extensive testing and certification... with a reeeally long burn-in period. :-)

The Reman gang builds these systems to order and tests them thoroughly at both the component and system levels;  reman systems meet and usually exceed Sun serviceability requirements, which means they're immediately eligible for service coverage.  It's a pretty nice deal, depending on what you're looking for.

Anyhow, the web pages were in need of some refurbishment themselves, so the team got out some paint, solder and power drills and got to work. Voilà:

Before...
After...
Reman - Before Reman - After

Some of the changes of the new section include:

  • Tabs that group the content into logical sections
  • More obvious and up-front availability listings
  • Easier links to buy the items
  • Promos that are easier to scan at a glance

Enjoy!

P.S. Yes, the old section was on our list of things that weren't up to snuff.

Comments:

Hmm, think this is one of the (relatively few) cases where I preferred the old design... the featured systems just look scattered around on the new page, and hardly anything lines up with anything else. The "All featured systems..." text breaks really awkwardly too, although that might just be the way you've taken the screenshot-- but most people are going to have their browsers more-or-less that sort of width, so I'd probably have broken that text onto two lines just to make totally sure that it wouldn't happen.
