You kind of have to know where to look, but there is a lot of interesting video on Sun's web sites.  Here are a few I found recently scrounging around the site:

NC popup exampleScience Notes are quick in-the-field overviews of technology done by Tony Hillman.  Think 'James Burke Connections' updated for this century. Oh, here another new science note on reference architectures that just came out.

The sun.com News page always has several featured video clips, often starring industry luminaries or thought leaders. You can also find live and playback webcasts  from Sun conferences such as SunNetwork and JavaOne.

BigAdmin Extreme is a 'techie news show' produced periodically. About 10 minutes into it there's usually a good hands-on demo (confession: when I'm rushed, which is usually, I skip the intro and go to the demo).  Right now they have one on Project Looking Glass.

The Network Computing online events appear about every three months and include technology and product overviews and often some interesting demos.

There's more interesting video around the site, which I'll post pointers to as I find it. My wife (who's a TV producer) says some of it's pretty cool, some looks too corporate, and some other bits even look like they were plucked from the old Wayne's World sketches on Saturday Night Live... but that's part of the charm, eh?

Comments:

Too bad it is all in proprietary Real format... What ever happened to Sun promoting open standards???
