Annoying "Bargain" Spyware
Even with the new regulations expected to be passed by the Congress, spyware designers will still be able to use legal loopholes or simply break the law and get their wares installed on PCs.
This weekend, my daughter and a school friend of hers seem to have admitted a spyware onto my wife's PC. The name of this very unwelcome guest is "Bullseye Network" or "Bullseye Bargain Buddy". (I have no idea and do not have the time to find out whether this is a classical spyware or not. For a random profile of it, see here.)
It was not too hard to remove but one needs to have some basic PC expertise to do it, expertise that an average consumer may be lacking.
