A new patch for NetBeans IDE 6.1 is now available on the Update Center. The patch includes fixes in modules for BPEL, C/C++, Composite Application, Database, Editing Files, GlassFish, IDE Platform, JSF, Java, Java Debugger, Java Profiler, Mercurial, NetBeans 6.1, NetBeans Plugin Development, Platform, RESTful Web Services, Ruby, SOA, Spring Web MVC, Visual JSF, WSDL, Web Applications, Web Services, XML and Schema. The NetBeans community asked for more frequent updates, and we're doing it.
The timing and the number of fixes in a patch varies, but we're keeping up the
pace with solid updates that benefit the community. If you want to nominate more bugs to be included
in future patches, just take a look at the wiki page.
The update is easy to install when the NetBeans IDE is running. Just click on the globe in the status bar or go to Tools -> Plugins -> Updates tab, then follow the installation instructions.
The updates are also available in zipped format on SunSolve.

Sun Studio 12 includes an update Center (Sun Studio Update Center) where SunStudio team places new modules and updates to existing modules that are specific to and tested with Sun Studio 12.
It is possible to download and install modules from the NetBeans 5.5.1 update center in to a Sun Studio 12 installation and the following blog entry details how this can be done. Please note that the modules have not been specifically tested with Studio itself and though , in theory, any NetBeans 5.5.1 module should work with Sun Studio 12, there may be cases where the modules are not compatible and may lead to issues. In such cases, the offending modules will need to be uninstalled.

Sometimes it is desirable to download nbms offline. As an example usecase, one may wish to update an IDE that is installed on a system without an internet connection (possibly set up that way for security reasons). In such cases, the updates can be obtained offline using a system that does have an internet connection; and the updates then copied over to and applied offline on a system without internet access.
