OpenMP is not supported in C/C++ Pack 5.5.1 or 6.0.

From http://platform.netbeans.org/articles/nbm_interview_vladimir.html :

If an application engages parallelization, OpenMP, or MPI... Sun Studio is the best!...

For more info on OpenMP Support in Sun Studio Compilers and Tools:

http://developers.sun.com/solaris/articles/studio_openmp.html

Sun Studio 12 is not available on Windows though.

from http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/index.jsp: Sun Studio software delivers high-performance, optimizing C, C++, and Fortran compilers for the Solaris OS on SPARC, and both Solaris and Linux on x86/x64 platforms, including the latest multi-core systems.

Solaris is now developed in opensource (http://opensolaris.org) and is available for free. Solaris is also made available in an easy-to-install developer edition (http://developers.sun.com/sxde/download.jsp) , which installs the Solaris operating system and all the development tools including Sun Studio and provides an excellent environment for developing OpenMP applications.
