More than ever, Java is Everywhere. With Sun now open sourcing key Java technology, you can download the code that helps run everything from cell phones to servers, and adapt it to your needs.
Tune in to SDNtv this week for the Open Source Java Special. Learn more about the Open Source JDK, an implementation of Java SE, and GlassFish, an open source version of Java EE.
First up, Simon Phipps, Sun’s chief open source officer, chats with Mark Reinhold, chief engineer for Java SE and a lead on the open source project. Learn about the the groundswell of creative activity in the community including the Kitchen Sink Language project (KSL).
Next, Phipps explores the GlassFish community with Sun distinguished engineer Eduardo Pelegri-Liopart. Like the tropical fish it’s named after, GlassFish is a completely transparent entity. Hear about the new versions that are in the works, and the most recent GlassFish release that is production-ready today.
