Greg Murray, Sun's AJAX Architect, has some incredible information to share on client-side scripting with JavaScript and how you can easily design and create AJAX-enabled widgets using jMaki. Learn first-hand how jMaki's wrapper-type architecture allows you to mix and match Yahoo UI widgets with Google services along with DoJo to make development, deployment and management easier than ever - especially if you are going to share code across your organization.
Did you know that jMaki is integrated with NetBeans and works with Phobos, JSF, and JSP? I understand the view is specific to the technology you're using, but the JavaScript is rendered the same - everything works together. So, be sure to read Greg's Blog and stay up to date on what's happening with jMaki and JavaScript.
And don't forget to follow up on Greg's recommendation - check out the screencast and the jMaki Gallery. You can see all the different widgets in action and learn how to build one yourself using NetBeans. Take a look at the code - it's all right there. My personal favorite it the Flickr Image Word Test. Very cool!
Stay tuned for the next edition of SDN Channel. We'll have some cool technology interviews on open source along with the latest tools and resources.
