Listen in as our hosts Mike Coe and Jordan Slott visit with Virginia Tech sophmore, John Edstrom. John is doing an amazing job evangelizing Sun technology through the campus ambassador program. He has held four tech talks at Virginia Tech since last November and has received tons of positive feedback.
One of the most well received talks was on Project DarkStar where Chris Melissinos, Sun's Chief Gaming Officer, presented to over 60 students. Be sure to check out the audiocast and presentation...not to be missed!
What I found really cool - is that John invited the experts to come on campus and tell the story. David Simmons brought in a few experts from Sun Labs and gave an in-depth, hands on technical introduction into Sun SPOTs. Dr. Harry Foxwell, Sr. Systems Engineer presented on Open Solaris, demoed DTrace and was really able to make an impact with the student audience.
John has a great personal story about his work on the Collegiate Times website. He also has a few opinions to share, so listen in and see if you agree. I would also recommend checking out John's blog to learn more about all his work as a campus ambassador.
