OpenJDK Ambassador, Tom Marble, gives a great update on how far Open Sourcing Java Sun's implementation of Java SE has come over the last year. (If you're interested, check out our previous SDN Channel edition: "Java Opens Up".
Tom talks about the community led IcedTea project, which is really OpenJDK without the binary plugs and that can be redistributed. If you are a Java developer your applications can now get even better distribution with GNU/Linux. Interested in diving into the internals of the JVM itself?
