Sun Studio is a toolset for C, C++, and Fortran developers. It's a comprehensive toolset that includes compilers, libraries, code and memory debuggers, performance analyzers, as well as other application development and productivity tools. In addition, Sun Studio offers an integrated development environment based on the NetBeans IDE. Significantly, Sun Studio includes leading-edge support for developing parallelized applications targeted at multicore systems. In fact, the latest Sun Studio release, Sun Studio Express 11/08, includes full OpenMP 3.0 compiler support and enhanced support for Open MPI in the performance analyzer. OpenMP is an API designed to enable developers to build applications that take advantage of multicore systems. Open MPI is an open source Message Passing Interface (MPI) implementation that enables developers to build applications that take advantage of clusters of systems -- something particularly important in the High Performance Computing (HPC) space.
With all this functional richness, Sun Studio presents a very attractive development platform for application developers. With this in mind, I asked Ikroop Dhillon, the Product Marketing Manager for Sun Studio, to show us the toolset in action.
Watch this video and see Ikroop demonstrate some of the features and tools in Sun Studio Express 11/08 such as the Sun Studio IDE, the new dbx debugger, and the performance analyzer. Here's a screenshot of the dbx tool being used to debug a Tetris game:
Pretty compelling tools and a pretty cool video.

Really Cool video !!
I have been looking for an integrated IDE of this sort for a long time. I always wished if netbeans could do all this.
Didn't know about Sun Studio.
