Sun encourages a culture of innovation, it’s interesting to hear Shaposhnik explain how Linux support began as a skunkworks project. Now it’s fully integrated in the latest release. In fact, everything about Sun Studio 12 is integrated. Out of the box, you get a single development tool for a wide variety of needs.
Seems to me that integration is Sun Studio 12’s strongest selling point except that it’s not for sale. It’s free to download and use. Give it a test drive here.
