"There are three times as many mobile phones than PCs in China, students in university have much interest in mobile application development, so we try to attract them to use the NetBeans Mobility Pack," Ada tells me during a break at Sun Tech Days in China.
Her experience lies mainly in Java EE, "but more and more I'm focusing on the interface between Java EE and ME." Java EE provides the enterprise services and the phone acts as the client--the most popular client. "So of course you need to construct the back end in Java EE. Now I'm interested in how to connect them. There's not much adventure in EE--it's mature--but there are lots of interesting opportunities in Java ME."
