Falling hit count

My hit count has been falling faster than W's approval rating.  Off about 1500 hits a day.  Why you ask?  I know exactly why.

I've implemented spam prevention features in Roller and I'm blocking any refererrers with the following names in their URL:

casino, poker, viagra, pharmacy, phentermine, gangbang, phenrx, symmetrel, boomer, vicodin, phenix, carisprodol, hydrocodone, cialis, 36busty, carisoprodol, adipex, gambling, debt, lol.to, ultram, stimulant

I guess it's still all about Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll...er..Gambling.

While I haven't been hit too bad with comment spam, I'd rather not have a false hit count either.  I guess I just feel better knowing that there are real eyeballs reading my blog.

I think your spam prevention is certainly a contributer to declining numbers, but we're not ruling out a problem with Roller daily hits. Dave's trying to squeeeeeze in a fix in Roller 2.1 (due out on blogs.sun.com 10 days before the big guy slides down the chimney).
