This weeks runs.....

Interval

Planned: (1200m @ 4:33, 1000m @ 3:44, 800m @ 2:58, 600m @ 2:13, 400m @ 1:27) + 200m recover

Actual: 4:25, 3:40, 2:59, 2:10, 1:24 - very hard session, absolutely empty at the end, as evidenced by my peak HR of 199 (close to my max of 203)

Tempo

Planned: 11k : 1.5 + 8 @ 4:30/km + 1.5

Actual: 11k : 1.5 + 8 @ 4:22/km + 1.5 - I was "running blind" for most of the 8km, I forgot to lock the bezel on my Garmin 405, and as usual, a small drop of sweat on it and the bezel is useless, couldn't see what pace I was running so had to go by "feel" - I wasn't far off.

Long

Planned: 27k @ 5:05/km

Actual: 27k @ 5:04/km - there were at least 3 occasions during this run where I didn't feel like I could continue. The difference between running a half-marathon distance (21k) and distances like this is mentally enormous, especially at a decent pace. Already dreading the 32km next weekend. Still, I believe you have to get to these dark places in your training to make you mentally stronger.

X-training

50 minutes turbo session (cycling)
