Back to Belgium for my first time at FOSDEM, where I presented on progress Towards a Universal VM in the Free Java track. (An updated form of my Devoxx talk with Brian Goetz.) It was good to meet Andrew Haley at last, chat with Martin Odersky about Scala and modularity, and of course catch up with Dalibor.
Looks good. Indeed good enough that I might be a future FOSDEM visitor.
I like the implicit support for currying and partial eval (a sometime-used feature of SML/etc that I sometimes miss), but I'd still like some non-obtuse way of (a) doing it in Java and (b) having HotSpot be able to see and optimise it. I get the feeling that your remark does not imply either.

Thanks for coming to FOSDEM, Alex, I really enjoyed your presentation - in particular explaining tail calls in 180 seconds or less.
