Comments:

Nice. Do you know that changing some options in the Netbeans startup script with GTK look and feel, could enable your Netbeans too look like a Mac OS application?

I posted a similar entry in 2006.

http://blogs.sun.com/jimlaurent/entry/make_your_solaris_desktop_look

You need to put the window widgets in upper left where God and Steve Jobs intended them to be:

Don't forget the most important step:

* start gconf by typing: gconf-editor and hitting enter.
* This program is a bit like the registry editor for windows.
* In the tree on the left you need to go to /apps/metacity/general/
* There is then a key in the right pane called "button_layout"
* edit this key so that it reads:
* close,minimize,maximize

An even better set of Mac-like themes for Gnome is available at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mac4lin

This set gives you a look much more like Leopard. Even though the name of the project implies Linux, it's really just Gnome.

To paraphrase the person who sent me this, why not just use OSX instead?
