2nd OpenSolaris User Group, another success!
The 2nd OpenSolaris User Group was pulled off without a hitch, thanks to all the folks that contributed and helped make the effort a success! We had refreshments and snacks for folks as well as t-shirts, CD/DVD cases, and some books to handout to those that did attend.
Darren Moffat promised to get the slides up on his blog, so check for them there. Ben Rockwood also was taking video and that should be available soon.
Here are some pictures:
Bob Palowoda, long time Solaris supporter and Solaris on x86/x64 die hard. Bob was one of the very helpful folks to me in getting me started with Solaris on x86 quite a few years ago now...
Folks are starting to show up, we got a decent crowd of about 50 folks, mixed with Sun Engineers and Community folks.
Hideya Kawahara on the left, creator of Project Looking Glass showed up to demonstrate his software. He's talking to Jim Grisanzio's camera (just kidding, Jim is behind it!;-)
Stuart Kreitman and Alan Coopersmith getting the laptop setup which was running Project Looking Glass, freshly ported to Solaris on x86/x64.
Just to prove that there really is a Jim Grisanzio behind that camera!
Ben Rockwood and Darren Moffat in the back.
Darren Moffat, the main presenter who was talking about Security on Solaris 10, talking with one of the attendees of the user group.
Several of the Sun masterminds behind much of the great work that's been put into Solaris 10. These folks have gone the extra distance and have really pushed the envelope to make Solaris 10 what it is today!
Hope to see you next month!
