I'll call your CDA and raise you 32-bits!
Anybody in the mood for a game of poker?
I'm heading to Los Angeles this Thurs., Oct. 28th for both an internal as well as external Installfest. Those attending will be able to get the most recent Solaris Express which is due on October 29th. This will be build 69.
Since I'm in the mood for for a game of poker, I'll call your CDA and raise you 32-bits for all willing to play a hand with me.;-)
I refer to this as a game of California Stud!

It will not be included, sorry. People will have to wait for S10U1 most likely to get ZFS.

About when should Sol10U1 be released?

David,
You'll be able to test it fairly soon after the FCS of S10 as I'm told there will be some type of package available. Just because it's not bundled with FCS doesn't mean you won't be able to get the bits. This is all to be determined though.
I'm not sure how Sun could over hype something as revolutionary as ZFS.
One thing you can bet on, and that is there will be no kernel patches for ZFS as there are for LVM2. The thought of LVM2 competing with ZFS, well, that just hurts...(ouch!) I'd say we need to hype it up a bit more if that's where you've placed ZFS.;-)
I honestly don't know when S10U1 will ship, but it will be after S10 FCS.(wink!)

Ordinary users don't need to worry about kernel patches when they get a distribution and/or support from one of the big vendors such as Red Hat. It has a tendancy to Just Work -- if it doesn't work they have a support system just as they would if something wasn't working with Solaris. While I like to think of myself as something more than an ordinary user, I still don't have to worry about kernel patches and the like unless I'm in a masochistic mood.
As far as where I personally place LVM2 compared to ZFS, LVM2 at this moment has one critical advantage: I can (and do) use it now, in the RHEL4 betas and Fedora Core 3 release candidates. Something that I can use is infintely better at solving a particular problem than something which I don't have in my hands.
