SVOSUG - DTrace Intro & Update - this Thurs. April 26, 7:30pm SCA03

This Thursday, the Silicon Valley OpenSolaris User Group has yet another great meeting planned.

Brendan Gregg, will be presenting a DTrace Intro and Update, including but not limited to finding out what's happening with DTrace, the DTraceToolkit, the new DTrace Topics project on SolarisInternals, some cool DTrace demos, and how to be a DTrace Jedi!

Many of you may know Brendan as being the author of the DTraceToolkit, and if you are not familiar, you must go get it and install it immediately. There's some fantastic scripts in there that make a great resource to draw from as well as providing incredible functionality as-is.

You can download it from the OpenSolaris DTrace community site, if you don't have it.

I am travelling to San Francisco this week, assisting to a conference (I am from Montreal) and I would be very interested assisting the SVOSUG next thursday. How much time should I plan from San Francisco downtown to Sun's Santa Clara Campus?

Francois, I will give you a general answer for most all cities of the world... It depends on traffic!;-) Depending on what time you come down, you might want to plan on 1 hour travel time, if you're starting out on 101 by SF City. IOW, if you were across town at the Golden Gate, it would take longer, and why it's hard for me to give you a good answer. It probably won't take you 1 hour, but it could in rush hour traffic. Since you are not local, I would give it at least 1 hour. Quick directions...south 101, exit Montague Expressway, follow the sign to Agnew (2nd exit as you pull off). Stay on the right side after you loop around and over the freeway, and you'll see Intel on the left (a blue and white building). As you cross Mission College, stay on the right as you go over the bridge, and exit to Lafayette while you're on the bridge, you'll see what I mean when you get there. Turn right, and the first light past the freeway is Palm, turn right on Palm into the Sun campus, and the Auditorium is on the right side (SCA03). Upstairs room after you enter, there should be a sign pointing to the left and up the stairs.
