[SVOSUG] Project Indiana, get the skinny direct from the source! Thurs. 7:30pm SCA03
This Thursday, the Silicon Valley OpenSolaris User Group is pleased to announce a topic that has gained quite a bit of talk in the community.
Ian Murdock, Chief Operating Platform Strategist for Sun Microsystems, will be talking about and explaining Project Indiana. Project Indiana is a binary distribution of OpenSolaris which Ian plans to work on in an open environment, with a community on OpenSolaris.org.
Ian will be joined by newly appointed OGB board member, Glynn Foster, Desktop Engineer working on the Java Desktop Systems for Sun.
Both Ian and Glynn will provide information and give an outline of what Project Indiana actually is, what it means, and how it will move forward. Join us and hear what Project Indiana means for the OpenSolaris community, and how it's distribution will be different than some of the others that exist already today.

Please can we get a recording of this meeting posted somewhere after the event?
Seriously - mp3 recorders can be found on eBay for < $20 - my 256mb iRiver records 4 hrs of audio at pretty good quality and does the job fine with an external mic.
For user groups not in the Bay Area (or PST) we don't often get to have these sort of celebrities speaking at our meetings and would really appreciate hearing what's going on. Say "hi" to Glynn for me, and congratulate him on the new job :-)
