BlogLines Latency?
I've been very happy with bloglines for several years. This free service has been improving on a small but regular basis, but I'm starting to ask myself why it seems that some posts show up pretty late (up to 6 hours after they were first posted). Maybe it's time I revisit Java-based BlogBridge and its great synchronization feature.

Own dog food

I've spent earlier bits of JDK 6 off of java.net.

This time, I used the link from java.sun.com and was presented with the new download page which suggests that you used the Sun Download Manager.

The nice thing about it is the extra features (mainly partial downloads) and the fact that the app itself is transparently deployed with Java Web Start. In terms of Swing development I would have done a few things differently (Metal tabs are just so 90's), but the end-result is really nice.

Good old download is still available of course.
