World's Most Popular Open Source Database and Sun Microsystems

Today I got and email and it was written that;" it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire
MySQL AB, an open source icon and developer of one of the world's
fastest growing open source databases for approximately $1 billion in
total consideration". I think Sun is acquiring the biggest DB in the Web 2.0 space. Since I am an entrepreneurship master student, I suddenly thought that; this places us in just about every young start-up's line of sight as we
now are a point of contact for them. And if we support MySQL then it will be more professional product with a support of perfect company.

For Sun customers; it means expanded choice of open source
offerings, available and
supportable globally, on a variety of platforms. In addition; Sun will provide an open source database with enterprise
class, 24/7/365 mission critical service support which will make MySQL top 1 DB in the world.

This is totally a great news for all of us. Congratulations every one !!!
