Wednesday July 04, 2007 The conference at the Deusto University went alright. Actually, besides the conference itself or the talks, it was very interesting to meet some of the attendees. There were many people around with valuable experiences and comments on FOSS.
As far as people have told me they liked the OpenSolaris talk very much, which is great. Due of the time constraints, I could only briefly explain the most important points about the community and technology, but I think it was enough to make people realize that the world is not Linux-centric.
After my talk there were a bunch of questions on the technology, licensing and business models around OpenSolaris; and I have to say that people knew perfectly what they were asking; a few of their questions touched key points of the project. I'm glad they knew enough about OpenSolaris and OpenJDK for being asking those questions! :-)
By the way, here you have a few pictures of the event. Enjoy!
