Indian Food. Bollywood Remixes. Waitresses clad in Indian dresses.

Indian Raja is THE popular Indian restaurant in Riga as demonstrated by its collection of prestigious awards:

Some days back, I had written a somewhat impulsive post-

When will these Indian news channels learn?

Just read a blog on Reuters:

Does Indian media go overboard with breaking news?

Its a concern that has been bothering me for sometime now. I am glad the media is taking it up now.

The comments in both posts are a good read.

With all the excitement for my first trip to Europe, along with my colleagues- Nidhi, Nirbhay and Satya I took an early morning flight of Lufthansa airlines from Bangalore to Frankfurt, from where we were to take a connecting flight to Riga.

The interior of the Boeing seemed to be too cramped up. We had to sit seperately from each other- due to late check-in and that 2 of us got non-reclinable seats didn't help the matter.

However, the tired body soon started taking over all of this and with the decent in-flight entertainment services- soon fell asleep.

We reached Frankfurt after a 9 H flight.

We hardly got any time to look around, but managed to do some 'window' shopping and gazing at the various brand stores and also some photo-sessions :D

We reached Riga after a 2.5 h connecting flight.

We reached Radisson SAS after a 20 Min. shuttle service from the Airport and after some time in the afternoon, got out for a walk in the chilly conditions.

Quiet. Cold. Beautiful.

Dinner

We had dinner after that.

Business from tomorrow :-) I am here for the Sun Database Technology Group Meeting.

In the backdrop of the LHC experiment, I just learnt that a teenage Indian girl has committed suicide fearing rumors of the world's end projected by Indian news channels.

My 10 year old sister told me over phone that the regional news channels were alerting peiople over a possible earthquake.

Not many days ago, one of the channels was instrumental in spreading bomb blast rumors in Kerala.

When will these news channels understand their responsibility?

When will they stop projecting any tiny domestic quarrel as BREAKING NEWS?

This seems to be the age of sensational journalism and the only motto is to gain TRPs, even at the cost of irresponsible behavior.

Someday, all of this has to end.

Happened to go for a cuppa of Cappuchino to a local Cafe Coffee Day outlet with my gal, and there was a smile in the cup:

He he :-)

Hello all,

Today is my 5th day at Sun India. I have completed a week at Sun now. One of the first things I did at Sun was set up my Sun blog.
