Some exciting news this week if you haven't seen it, the latest Fedora and Ubuntu releases include OpenJDK. Furthremore, NetBeans is being delivered as part of the Ubuntu 8.04 LTS release. By the same token, last week Canonical certified Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server Edition on several Sun x86 systems.

We're all excited about the prospects of this as an essential step in making Java technology a foundation for developers who only build on FOSS stacks and it ensures Java's relevance and importance for the NEXT decade!
