Visit to the US of A

Wow!

Got back yesterday from a wonderful week long visit to the SUN campus in Menlo park. Five ambassadors (including myself) from around the world were invited to meet the SUN Executive Leadership Team to discuss the Campus ambassador program and talk about the students perspective of Sun and it's technologies.

Gary Serda, the global lead of the ambassador program(or our boss), was a great host and took care of _everything_ for us.

Of course, the highlight of our visit was the chat we had with Jonathan Schwartz and the ELT. We actually had a private chat with him a day prior to the ELT meet. Suffice to say, we ambassadors were enamored by the admirable and sincere leader.

Apart from the meet, we toured the very beautiful campus at Menlo park. The favourite by far was the trip to the Sun Lab. with gadgets lying around like you wouldn't believe, we had a great time playing around with technology whose hackability can only be guessed with terms like remotecontrolledhelicopter , 3dvirtualofficespace and superhackablesunspots.

The icing on the cake being given a Sun spot kit to play with! (these are not available outside the US, so you can understand the excitement)

The super sun spots

(Sun spots) You will see a lot about these in my future posts.

I have missed out on a lot of other cool stuff that i want to post about including out visit to the crooked street, golden gate bridge, the food, the CA team, etc.. but this has gotten long enough for now. Update later.

The orange dude is Elmo, from Sesame Street. I'm more of a Cookie Monster kinda guy, but Elmo's cool :)
