Greetings from Manhattan

Sun Microsystems has been my employer since August 1997. Originally I was an instructor teaching Advanced Systems Administration and in 1998 I moved over to work in a Sales Support capacity primarily supporting major financial institutions. Professsional Services was my home for a while where I did project work at the Wall Street firms but now I'm back as a Technical Specialist to those same firms.

I'm new to blogging here...but I used to teach HTML (how to code a website) and Unix (where the website runs) at NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies, so I've had a website since 1996 and my friend, Mark Meretzky, whom I used to teach with is writing a book on C++ that's pretty cool for all your developer types out there.

He also teaches Unix, I used to teach using his materials. His handouts are very well written and are basically a starter on Shell Scripting if you need to know the difference between ' " and ` in the Shell language and other such esoteric things.

Comments:

Hey Ann, my old stomping ground. Which building is the computer center in now? I used to inhabit Warren Weaver hall, and the computer center on the 2nd floor. My office was on the 3rd. But, that was (egad!) 40 years ago. Read all about it here: http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/rchrd?entry=my_forty_years_with_computers and remember me to Herald Square.

just because your Dad was right!; that there was no peace in your home, doesn't mean you have to chase all the men out of your life, and other friends, because of unrealistic expectations. i don't think the presby/catholic school thing was right for you, trying to be so perfect, maybe the baptists will tell you, your not-period. are you trying to die from a heart attack? why don't you go back to cute more, and less tech
