Czech Miss Was to Be a Show, But Let Down The Czech Miss competition, rival to the traditional Miss of the Czech Republic, knows its first winner: Katerina Smejkalova. The Czech Miss is a new national beauty contest started up by Miss CSFR 1991 winner Michaela Malacova. Ms. Malacova came up with a lot of innovations such as voting via mobile phone (the gain from SMS voting goes to children's homes). However, the show was rather average and even the presence of the world beauty queen Australlian Jennifer Hawkins (Miss Universe 2004) and the Czech Republic president Vaclav Klaus didn't catch up with the current level of international shows such as MTV Austraila Video Music Awards (with striptease dance of Carmen Electra or flashing bra of Anna Nicole Smith). — III 08 2005, 05:01:13 odp.
