Having seen that the message for which I changed the date of publishing into the future has finally appeared, the mistery of where/if the posting had disappeared has been answered.
What I can conclude is that this feature allows to do something akin to what electronic card web services offer, to schedule a post to take place at a certain date.
One problem that I believe should be resolved, is that the 'in-the-future' post is not visible to the blog owner until that day either, which prevents him/her from modifying/canceling it.
When looking at the post information, two dates appear there, the date of writing, and the date of posting. It appears that 'roller' filters the message to be accessible (to both owner and readers) based on posting date. I am wondering if the author/owner date selection should be based on the writing date.
Any other interesting features that you may have found in roller ?
